Changing jobs (no matter where you are in your career) is hard and we respect that. We’ve all been there. To help make our hiring process fair and transparent, we interviewed seven Gympass recruiters from around the globe and asked them what advice they would give to someone looking to join the team.
Here’s what they said:
1. Check out our values
“Everything we do at Gympass is values-driven so make sure you review our values before your interview. It’s always great to hear examples from candidates about how they feel they align with them. “
Charlee Burns, Recruiter
New York City
2. Keep it casual but professional
“Our interview-style reflects our company environment, it’s professional but informal. We won’t use formal language and appreciate an occasional (and appropriate) joke. We’re excited to get to know you, so showing your personality is always welcome. Our approach will always be human first.”
Carolina Nathan, Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding Specialist
Madrid
3. Do your research
“Do research before you speak with a recruiter! It’s important to have a good foundation of knowledge about the company beforehand. This will not only show that you’re serious about the opportunity but will allow us to have a more meaningful conversation about the details you’re most curious about”
Nathalia Sacks, Tech Recruiter
São Paulo
4. Check in on your online presence
“Double-check that your social media and LinkedIn profiles are up to date. Inconsistencies between your resume and these public profiles can be damaging. I also recommend practicing for your interview. Practice adds confidence and minimizes temporary nervousness.”
Joanie Stofanak, Director of US Talent Acquisition
New York City
5. Know yourself
“It’s important to be aware of both your strengths and your weaknesses. Our team is humble and constantly seeking improvement. We want to know that you’re aware of the areas that you can continue to develop and grow.”
Michely Morelli, Talent Acquisition Senior Manager
São Paulo
6. Align your resume with the job description
“Review the competencies listed in the job description when you apply. When possible, highlight them in your resume so we can see how your experience aligns with our goals.”
Caio Chedid, Senior Director Talent Acquisition
São Paulo
7. Ask questions!
“Know that you can ask your recruiter questions at any stage of the process. If there is something that’s super important to you in your job search (diversity and inclusion programs, growth opportunities, teambuilding events, etc.) ask about it! We’re experts in all things Gympass. The most important part of our job is sharing that knowledge with candidates so they have an accurate feel of the employee experience.”
Emily Teague, Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding Manager
Houston
Great tips, thank you!
