As one of the many pandemic graduates, landing a position was challenging. In the midst of job applications and working part-time, my persistence began to waver.
But something that stuck with me throughout that time was my rekindled love for exercise. Whenever I felt stressed, finding new ways to move was my saving grace.
I really saw the value in caring for myself inside and out. So, to say that everything clicked when I came across Gympass would be an understatement.
That feel-good feeling, all wrapped up in a company
Gympass caught my attention amongst the sea of companies looking to hire young talent. Its mission to help people really resonated with me.
I was thrilled when they followed up after my application for their Content Writer Intern position. After speaking with several Gympassers, I had a feeling that this was going to be a great fit.
And in just a short amount of time, I accepted their offer.
Coming in hot (and cold)
My excitement was there. My eagerness was there. My experience? Not so much.
Though I didn’t have direct B2C writing experience, I learned quickly thanks to my amazing team. Taylor and Lauren, the content writing pros, helped me so much during my first few weeks. They were both very detailed, patient, and available for any questions I had.
Once my internship had ended, the team offered to extend my contract month after month until another opportunity came knocking.
Let’s just say, life is unpredictable
As part of the internship experience, I was introduced to many talented people across the company. One of the teams I had connected closely with was the Branding & Creative team. They’re responsible for creating campaigns and Gympass’ branding elements.
Since my background was in advertising, it had always been a dream to create content like that. And when my manager and the B&C team offered me a full-time, Jr. Copywriting position, I was beyond ecstatic! There wasn’t much to think about (and the answer was obviously yes).
A new chapter unfolds
Transitioning from an intern to a full-time Gympasser was a smooth process. At that point, I had worked very closely with those I continue to work with to this day. The experience that I gained while working on the content team helps tremendously with my current role.
The day-to-day demand is greater than my intern role, but that’s to be expected. It doesn’t matter because I love the work that I do.
Everyone I work with on the B&C team (and every team for that matter) is so accommodating and helpful. The kindness that I encounter every day at Gympass makes me proud to work here!
To whoever is reading this, I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors. Keep your head up, stay hungry, and maybe even give Gympass a try.
