This June, Gympass kicked off our summer Internship program in the US, based in our NY headquarters. The internship lasts 12 weeks, and our interns are learning and contributing to projects across several departments.
Our inaugural Client Sales University program also kicked off in June with two amazing recent graduates! The aim of this program is to train the next generation of sales talent, so they can build successful sales careers with Gympass.
We have spoken with a few participants of these internship programs to see how their first few weeks are going and what they are most excited about: Devonnie Webster (People team intern), Preet Patel (Analytics team intern), Kusuma Gosala (Sales team intern), and Janae Banner (Legal team intern). We also sat down to chat with Rikhil Patel, one of our new Sales Development Analysts.

“I decided to join Gympass because it was the learning environment I knew I needed for my goals this summer. I was looking to find a company that would prioritize their interns. Gympass has given this to me so far; I look forward to experiencing, learning, and growing over the next 12 weeks,” says Kusuma Gosala.
First experience at Gympass
At Gympass, the leaders of each department are in charge of organizing presentations to explain all the details to the interns with their functions and tasks.
“I learned a lot about the company during onboarding. It was really a great way to transition into the role of being a Legal intern,” says Janae Banner. “Everyone was very open to talking, and it truly was refreshing to be able to experience everything. I loved the intake of information and how fast everything went by as it was just as enjoyable as it was informational,” adds Preet Patel.
The most enjoyable part
One of the advantages of working at Gympass is the flexibility working from home or in the office. In this last case, with all the amenities that facilitate a pleasant work environment.
“I think I’m really enjoying the overall workplace culture and environment. The office is super spacious. It has many different places for you to work based on your needs. You can sit at a desk, go to one of the lounge areas or one of the phone booths or empty private rooms,” describes Devonnie Webster. “Overall, the office provides a wonderful space to meet new people, focus, and work efficiently.”
The most exciting about the program
Through the Gympass Sales University program, the employees can learn from sales professionals and leaders at Gympass as well as external industry speakers. It includes on-the-job training so they can develop the skills required to build a successful sales career. That’s why Rikhil Patel is “excited to learn the sales craft from scratch and be part of an amazing and motivated team.”
One of the things we value most is receiving participants with enthusiasm and ambition. We can see this in Preet Patel, our Analytics Intern, “I am keen on learning the ins and outs of building a business from the ground up, which I hope to achieve myself. I hope to build lifelong relationships with the team, prioritize my learning and be an asset to the team by providing them with a tangible solution to the problem I am solving.”
Added values for the career growth
Being part of these internship programs goes beyond learning by watching what others do. At Gympass, all employees are encouraged to solve problems and face challenges that allow them to develop their career growth.
“I am being exposed to a wide range of legal issues in a company that is still growing rapidly. A lot of my peers from law school aren’t having that same opportunity. Working for Gympass this summer will allow me to improve my legal research and writing skills. I will also get to sit in on meetings regarding negotiations and contracts,” says Janae Banner.
