Gympass is a high-growth technology company disrupting the health and wellness space. We are searching for great talent to join our team on this mission. If you’re considering Gympass as your next professional step, this article is for you!
We will share five interview tips for tech jobs to help you prepare for our hiring process.
1. Prep and research
Interviews can be stressful. To ease your mind before beginning an interview process, research about technology, culture, and unique things about Gympass. Coming into the interview with expectations set can help you feel more relaxed and confident.
In addition to brushing up on your knowledge of Gympass, reflect on your career journey. Recruiters and hiring managers will ask questions about your past experiences in each interview. Jot down notes of key projects you worked on, software and tools you used, and key metrics that reflect the results. This will help you answer questions in a comprehensive way. One tool to do this is the STAR method (outlining the Situation, Task, Action, and Result).
2. Understand who you’re meeting with
Throughout the interview process, you will meet with a recruiter, hiring manager, and technical peers. Each conversation will have a unique focus. Understanding who you’re speaking to can help you prepare the best talking points and questions.
For example, your Recruiter may ask questions about soft skills and values in your HR interview. Before the call, think about what you value most at work and what kind of organization you want to work for.
In a technical interview, be prepared to discuss technical challenges in depth.
When meeting with the hiring manager, you may be asked questions about your work style and teamwork. Leader interviews are also a great time to ask the manager about these topics as they know their team best.
3. Perfect your application
When applying for an opportunity, it is critical to communicate effectively through your resume. Highlight relevant information in your career experience by breaking your resume into clear sections. Detail the companies you’ve worked for, mentioning the duration of each job, and highlighting high-impact projects. Indicate your primary skills, tools, and programming languages.
If you have proficiency in another language, include it as well. Above all, don’t forget to provide your contact details, such as phone and email, so we can reach out and keep in touch.
4. Brush up on your skills
In our tech interviews, we value a technology-agnostic mindset. Our assessments focus on fundamental engineering concepts rather than on familiarity with specific languages. Before your interviews, take some time to practice and reinforce your knowledge.
In technical interviews, we prioritize the engineering base. For product, the focus will be on product management best practices, with a focus on fundamentals.
We recommend reading books, researching articles, taking online courses, and reviewing old projects. Reflect on your experiences and analyze what you could have done differently. A continuous learning mindset is highly valued at Gympass.
5. Ask questions
A great way to demonstrate interest is to ask questions during all stages of the process. By asking thoughtful questions, you can illustrate your understanding of the role and the topics discussed in your interviews.
More importantly, asking questions ensures that you can feel confident about your decision to move forward with Gympass. Hiring decisions are mutual. As we assess whether you are a good fit for our team, you are also deciding on your professional career. Take advantage of this valuable opportunity to learn more about the aspects of a job that are most important to you.
We hope these interview tips for tech jobs help you to prepare for our hiring process. Hope to see you soon!
