Spending time with loved ones
Rafael Sienna (Director of Software Engineering) finds great satisfaction in remote work as it enables him to prioritize quality time with his family:
“We love going to the beach together, playing basketball, and practicing stand-up paddle. We also have good moments playing board and card games! And this is possible thanks to working in a remote team and department. It saves me a lot of time!”
Similarly, Cesar Pighin (Wellbeing Engagement Manager) is making the most of our flexible work policy to allocate additional time to his beloved dog, Cassio:
“He needs to go for a walk three or four times a day. We’re both more connected and happier since I spend more time at home and don’t need to commute. Every time I take a break from my everyday routine, Cassio shares it with me by my side. He enjoys taking long naps over my chest while I’m hugging him.“
Taking care of one’s own health
Stefanie Brito (Controllership Manager) recognized the necessity for a significant lifestyle transformation to embrace a healthier and more fulfilling approach toward aging. Embracing the Gympass app, she embarked on a journey of self-care, relishing the newfound joy in prioritizing her wellbeing:
“I was facing health issues. Our flexible working policy was the main drive to help me accomplish so much in my personal healthier journey. I could meditate at home before beginning work and include pilates in my lunch break. I began to enjoy taking care of myself, lost over 20 kg and no longer have any health problems.
Felipe Stankevicius (CX Manager) possesses a deep passion for sports. He values the opportunity to allocate time for planning and savoring his leisure hours. With the aid of a flexible schedule offered by Gympass, he is now exploring various activities:
“My previous job experience was in person, and I didn’t have the energy to work out. Now I have more time to plan and enjoy my time. Before work, I usually go to the gym. My morning workout gives me more energy, a better mood, and motivation to face the challenges of the workday. After work, I usually go to footvolley classes. On Thursdays, I play basketball with a group of friends. It’s a great time to meet old friends and do what we like!”
Enjoying time off
Nunzio Guida (VP of Operations) welcomed his second child in April. To cherish this special milestone, he chose to take a two-week break and reserve the remaining paternity leave for later, intending to cherish the summer season alongside his “three ladies”:
“Gympass’ parental leave policy provided the serenity of being able to support my partner during this challenging time. When I announced my upcoming paternity leave to my leader, he was incredibly supportive. The flexibility allowed me to fully engage with my family and create lasting memories. I’m grateful for Gympass’ understanding and the opportunity to prioritize my family’s wellbeing.”
Jennifer Van Pelt (Strategic Accounts & Field Marketing Senior Manager) recently utilized her accumulated tenure PTO days in conjunction with her annual leave to embark on a travel adventure:
“I decided to spend two and a half weeks exploring the beautiful island of Bali, one of the most memorable experiences of my life! In a Gympass Town Hall, it was said that employee wellbeing isn’t simply to keep us alive but to help us thrive. I’m so grateful for the encouragement from senior leadership to use our PTO days.”
Leading by example
Joanie Stofanak (Director of Talent Acquisition) wholeheartedly prioritizes fostering a healthy work-life balance for her global team, striving to fulfill their individual needs:
“The biggest challenge is time zones. The teams meet weekly, but we also meet monthly and quarterly together as an entire team to share updates. We accommodate a time that works for all countries. Flexibility first is the way we empower our teams to work. We empower them to trust, be autonomous, transparent, and accountable for results.”
At Gympass, our culture encourages employees to utilize the benefits we provide. By doing so, we believe we can truly achieve our mission of making wellbeing universal, ensuring happiness and good health for everyone. We eagerly anticipate hearing more inspiring stories that showcase a harmonious work-life balance.
